Maui is a paradise where waterfalls gush past highways, jungles meet ocean cliffs and the mighty Haleakala Crater stands guard as Hawaii's highest peak. Known as 'The Valley Isle' because of the giant stretch that dips between its two major volcanoes, Maui is the second largest of the Hawaiian islands. This 3D wooden contour map invites you to ogle the island's 120 miles (almost 200km) of incredible coastline, the recesses of Honolua Bay and Maalaea Harbor, and the twists and turns where the ocean juts into the Road to Hana.
The map depicts detailed bathymetric data (topography of the water). Made from 8 layers of 1/16" plywood, each layer represents 570ft of water depth. Each map will be unique due to the individual grain of the wood. They are all handmade with great care and attention to detail.
